Clause 4.1 Characteristic values, paragraph (1)

The characteristic values of snow load on the ground sk in the Germany are obtained from Snow Load Map and proper formula.

For Zone 1a and 2a, snow load is multiplied by factor 1,25.
where:
A is altitude above sea level in meters
Validity of formulas:
Zone 1: For A ≤ 400 m sk = 0,65 kN/m2. For A > 400 m, use formula.
Zone 2: For A ≤ 285 m sk = 0,85 kN/m2. For A > 285 m, use formula.
Zone 3: For A ≤ 255 m sk = 1,10 kN/m2. For A > 255 m, use formula.

Clause 4.3 Treatment of exceptional snow loads on the ground, paragraph (1)

In northern German lowland can be used different values from the local authorities. They are then considered as accidental actions.

Clause 5.2 Load arrangements, paragraph (7)

Ce = 1,0 for all topographies

Clause 5.2 Load arrangements, paragraph (8)

Ct = 1,0 for all roof materials

Clause 5.3.3 Pitched roofs, paragraph (4)

Standard drifted load arrangement is used.

Clause 5.3.4 Multi-span roofs, paragraph (3)

Standard drifted snow load is used.

Clause 5.3.4 Multi-span roofs, paragraph (4)

Where:
γ is snow weight, γ = 2 kN/m2
h is the height of the ridge above the eaves in m
sk is characteristic value of the snow load on the ground in kN/m2

Clause 5.3.5 Cylindrical roofs, paragraph (1)

Recommended value is used. μ3,max = 2,0

Clause 5.3.5 Cylindrical roofs, paragraph (3)

Standard drifted snow load is used.

Clause 5.3.6 Roof abutting and close to taller construction works, paragraph (1)

μw is calculated from the table of shape coefficients and for h > 0,5 m have to be bigger than

Where:
γ, density of snow, = 2 kN/m3
h is the height of the ridge above the eaves in m
sk is characteristic values of snow load on the ground in kN/m2
μ1 is shape coefficient from the table of shape coefficients
For summ of μw and μs next condition apply:

If open at the side and an canopies with b2 ≤ 3 m, next condition apply:

For alpine region with sk > 3,0 kN/m3 next condition apply:

In case of accidental action (Northern germany lowland) new condition apply:

Clause 5.3.6 Roof abutting and close to taller construction works, paragraph (3)

Annex B is not applied in Germany.

Clause 6.2 Drifting at projections and obstructions, paragraph (2)

Annex B is not applied in Germany.

Clause 6.3 Snow overhanging the edge of a roof, paragraph (1)

The calculation of snow load due to overhang is perform regardless of the altitude.

Clause 6.3 Snow overhanging the edge of a roof, paragraph (2)

The coefficient k = 0,4 in Germany.
