National annex selector

Combobox "National Annex" is used for selecting proper annex for calculation of the snow load.
Snow load requires selecion the national annex, because in Standard EN are not defined characteristic values of snow load on the ground.
For explanation of the National annex parameters related to snow load select national annex from the list below.

BS National Annex

ČSN National Annex

DIN National Annex

ELOT National Annex

IS National Annex

LU National Annex

NBN National Annex

NEN National Annex

NF National Annex

ÖNORM National Annex

PN National Annex

SFS National Annex

SIST National Annex

STN National Annex

General properties

General properties are similar to all snow load forms.
Checkbox "Print headline" represent official name for calculation. User can change it by uncheck "Print headline" and check "Print userdefined headline" and write his own headline into appropriate string line.

Geometry of the roof

Depth of the snow layer on the roof is in meters. Limits are from 0 to 1 m.
The most onerous undrifted load case appropriate for the roof under consideration is in kN/m2. Limits are from 0 to 5 kN/m2.

Parameters of the snow load

These parameters are depended on selected National annex.

Exposure coefficient

These parameters are depended on selected National annex.

Thermal coefficient

These parameters are depended on selected National annex.

Calculation

The National Annex may specify the conditions of use for this calculation. Standard recommendation is that the calculation is used for sites above 800 meters above sea level.

Characteristic value of snow load on the ground and Coefficients

These parts of calculation are described in the annotation for Coefficients for the snow load

Calculation of the snow load

Coefficient k can be defined in national annex. The recommended way for calculating k is as follows: k = 3/d, but k ≤ dγ
where γ is the weight density of snow which can be defined by national annex abd for this calculation may be taken as 3 kN/m3
Snow load per meter length due to the overhang is than calculated as follows se = k•s2 / γ

Explanation of symbols

d - Depth of the snow layer on the roof [m]
k - Coefficient for calculation the snow load
s - The most onerous undrifted load case appropriate for the roof under consideration [kN/m2]
se - Snow load per meter length due to the overhang [kN/m]

γ - Weight density of snow [kN/m3]
